Flower Toss
Create a fairy garden for a flower toss game. Insert a single artificial flower into a block of floral foam. Put the floral foam into a flowerpot. Make several flowerpots so that children have a better chance of winning the game. Decorate a plastic toy hoop with ribbon or a floral vine. Children can toss the hoop over any flowerpot to win the game.
Pin the Star on the Wand
Children will enjoy this twist on a traditional party game. Draw a large picture of a fairy holding a wand and hang it on the wall. Children can help make the stars for the game as they arrive at the party. Cut out star shapes from construction paper and decorate them with glitter. Roll a piece of tape and stick it onto the back of the star. Blindfold the child and gently spin her around three times. While still blindfolded, the child must try to press the star on top of the fairy's wand on the picture. Give a prize to the child whose star is closest to the top of the fairy's wand.
Magic Wands
Children can help create their own magic wands for party favors. Under adult supervision, children can cut 12-inch lengths of curling ribbon and tie them onto 1/4-inch dowel rods. Adults can use scissors to curl the ribbon into spirals. For extra-colorful wands, children can wrap crepe paper around the dowel rods and tape it into place. Put on music and let the children wave the wands in the air and dance.
Stepping Stones
Play a fairy-themed version of musical chairs. Arrange stepping stones in a large circle, making sure that there is one fewer stone than there are children. Tell children that they are fairies under a magic spell. Play classical music as the children walk from stone to stone. When the music stops, children must sit down on the closest stepping stone. The child who does not have a stone has been released from the spell and is free to dance to the music any way she chooses.
