Dinosaur Cups
Find a set of miniature dinosaurs with matching pairs. Put each dinosaur under its own plastic cup. Lift a cup. Try to find the dinosaur&'s twin under another cup.
Dinosaur Ends
Photocopy pictures of dinosaurs. Cut each picture in half and mix up the pieces. Turn them face down. Turn the pictures over, two at a time, until you match up each dinosaur&'s front with the dinosaur&'s end.
Dino Match Game
Separate a group of kids into two teams. Give index cards with dinosaur names on them to the first team. Give pictures of the dinosaurs to the second team. Have every player find his match.
Dinosaur Faces
Draw eight dinosaur faces, six of them slightly different from each other and two of them exactly the same. Number each dinosaur. The six different dinosaur faces can have longer necks or different eyes winking, or one could have an extra spike sticking out of its head. Write instructions that say, "Find the two dinosaurs that are exactly the same."
Connect the Dinosaurs
In one column have small pictures of dinosaurs, and in the other, the dinosaur&'s names in random order. Have the child draw a line from each dinosaur to its name.
Herbivore/Carnivore
Divide a piece of paper down the middle. Write "Herbivore" on one side and "Carnivore" on the other. Turn over cards with dinosaurs&' names on them and ask the child to place them on either side of the paper, depending on whether the dinosaur is a herbivore or a carnivore.
Dinosaur Switch-its
Cut up several pictures of different dinosaurs in three equal sections. Rearrange them to make new and interesting dinosaurs.
Mother Dinosaur
This classic memory game is played with cards. Half the cards have pictures of mother dinosaurs on them and the other half have babies. Turn over one card. If it&'s a mother, turn over cards one at a time to try to match up the mother dinosaur with her baby. If it&'s a baby, turn over cards one at a time to try to find its mother. Once you&'ve gotten a pair, you can put the two cards aside and continue trying to match up more dinosaurs.
