Pirate Board Games for Kids

Board games always provide families time away from the television or computer to bond and have fun. Pirate board games for children are specifically pirate-themed, offering players the chance to play as pirates or ship captains. Most pirate board games are strategy-based and are won by players acquiring the most amount of treasure or land before opponents.

Pirate-Opoly
- Pirate-Opoly is a board game by Late for the Sky that is appropriate for children 5 to 8 years old. Similar to the classic Monopoly game but with a pirate theme, players collect funds and make their way around the board acquiring Skulls and Crossbones and funds from various Pirates. 2 to 4 players.
Pirate&'s Cove
- Pirate&'s Cove by Days of Wonder offers 2 to 5 players the chance to play as ship captains with the goal of acquiring plunder, winning battles and gaining notoriety in this strategy game. The game includes a board, dice and various card decks with different themes for game play.
DICEcapades Word Pirates
- DICEcapades Word Pirates by Haywire Group is appropriate for children 6 to 12 years old and strengthens spelling skills with each game. Each player, or "pirate" rolls a letter dice and builds pathways of words with the goal of crossing dangerous waters to get to the pirate booty. Rock walls serve to hinder opponents&' progress.
LEGO Pirate Code
- LEGO Pirate Code game comes with 270 pieces to create the game itself. Two to four players then create their own secret code from four colored pieces to hide inside their treasure chests. The players take turns guessing opponents&' codes. The last player standing wins. LEGO Pirate Code is recommended for ages 8 years and up.

- Based on the Disney "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies franchise, the Pirates Dice Game comes with 4 dice cups and 20 dice inspired the movies. The game is based on a similar game from the film, and requires players to bluff their way to victory. The Pirates Dice Game is recommended for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up.
