Balloon-Pop Relay
Any number of children can play this game, although at least 8 players are recommended to keep the game from ending too quickly. Divide the children into two teams and have both teams form a line. Place a bag of inflated balloons about 20 feet away from the two lines. At the start of the signal, the first person in line from each team must run to the bag and pop a balloon as quickly as he can. Then, the child must run to the second person in line and tag him. The tagged child must then pop a balloon as quickly as possible and tag the next child in line. The first team to have every child pop a balloon wins.
Water-Balloon Toss
Fill balloons with water and place them in large buckets. Then, divide the children into teams of two and have partners face each other. Give one child from each team a water balloon and tell him to start tossing the balloon back and forth to his partner when the signal is given. After each successful toss and catch, both team members must take a step back. If the balloon pops, that team is out. The last team with a water balloon intact wins.
Popping and Pinching
Each child ties an inflated balloon to his ankle with a piece of string. When the signal is given, each child must attempt to pop other balloons while keeping his own balloon safe. The last child to have his balloon intact wins.
