Games for Gifted Kids

Gifted children can sometimes find themselves easily bored by ordinary games and toys. Fortunately, there is a wide range of puzzles, board games, toys and online games designed specifically to encourage and enhance a gifted child’s intellect and talents. Combining fun and education, these games challenge gifted kids of all ages while they practice higher-order thinking, logic and reasoning without being so grown up that the entertainment value is lost.

Summer Institute for the Gifted
- The Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG), which offers residential and day programs for gifted and talented students in kindergarten through 11th grade, has a website packed with constantly updated links to online games and puzzles specifically for gifted children. Fun Brain
- Fun Brain is a website devoted to educational games for gifted kids in kindergarten through 8th grade. Kids can drive in a math car race, build up their Spanish vocabulary with the Translator Alligator or practice reading music with a platypus conductor. Most of the games on this website can be played at four different levels, so children can continue to challenge themselves as they become familiar with each game.
