Gift-Giving
Shopping for relatives' birthday gifts presents the ideal game opportunity. Make a list of one-word adjectives that will give your daughter some clues as to what the relatives want, then give her a certain amount of money with the list of clues. Once she purchases the items, wrap them, and join her when presenting the gifts. The gifts that come closest to meeting the relatives' expectations will make your daughter eligible for a special gift of her own.
Music Mix
At the music store, surprise each other by finding new types of music to put in each other's baskets. For example, if your daughter usually listens to pop music, look for some Latin music for her to try. If you usually listen to movie soundtrack music, your daughter can get some jazz music for you. Take turns throughout the week listening to each other's new music as you work together in the kitchen preparing meals or move around the house taking care of house-cleaning chores.
Timed Groceries
If you want to have fun in the grocery store while teaching your daughter smart shopping skills, introduce a game in which you both have to purchase items on separate lists within 15 minutes. You can take the list of meats, while she handles the list of fruits and vegetables. Each of you should carry a timer while shopping. Whoever reaches the checkout area first with all items on her list, gets to choose the dessert of the day.
