Kangaroo Games for Kids

Despite being native to Australia, kangaroos appeal to kids all around the world. Kangaroos&' hopping capabilities and speed, as well as a female kangaroo&'s ability to carry offspring in a pouch, intrigue kids and adults alike. To enhance their kangaroo affection, kids can play various games that either feature inanimate versions of kangaroos or provide the opportunity to bounce around like kangaroos.
  1. &'Catch-a-Roo&'

    • Players compete to collect kangaroos in Tactic&'s "Catch-a-Roo," recommended for ages 5 and older. The game includes different-colored kangaroo playing pieces and kangaroo playing cards. Players also can defend any kangaroos they collect by playing the eight card. Once players have played all of the cards, the game ends, and the player who collected the most kangaroos wins.

    &'Hangaroo&'

    • Hanging from a rope, a kangaroo depends on players&' word-puzzle-solving skills to survive in "Hangaroo," accessible at the Miniclip site. As in "Hangman," players guess letters to solve word puzzles. When players click their letter choices, either the letter appears in the puzzle or an "X" buzzes and appears at the top of the screen for an incorrect guess. If players guess four incorrect letters during a puzzle, the rope lowers lowers and the game ends.

    &'Jumping Kangaroo&'

    • A kangaroo and her joey try crossing waterfalls in "Jumping Kangaroo," accessible at the 123Bee site. As a green arrow moves on the screen, players use their mouse to click the desired jumping angle. To choose the jumping speed, players look at the distance they must jump and click the screen once the green in the arrow reaches the desired power level. Players must achieve the target number of jumps to advance to the next level. If players fall into the water, they lose lives; the game ends when players lose all of their lives.

    &'Kangaroo Cruise&'

    • Kids collectively try cruising and jumping as far as kangaroos in "Kangaroo Cruise." After dividing into two teams and without taking a running start, the first child on each team jumps from the starting line. The next player then jumps from the spot where her teammate landed, and so forth, until all players have a turn jumping. The team advancing the farthest distance wins.

    &'Kangaroo Jump&'

    • Hopping like kangaroos with a tennis ball between their legs, kids race to the finish line in "Kangaroo Jump." After a leader establishes starting and finish lines, players start jumping like a kangaroo. Should players drop the ball during the race, they pick it up, put it between their knees and resume racing. Players caught hopping without the tennis ball or moving by non-hopping means return to the start line and start again. The player who first crosses the finish line with the tennis ball remaining between their legs wins.

    &'Kao the Kangaroo&' Games

    • Players help Kao escape an evil hunter&'s clutches and get back to the Australian Outback in Titus&' "Kao the Kangaroo," available for the Game Boy Advance and Sega Dreamcast consoles, as well as various Windows systems. Equipped with boxing gloves, players punch, tail-whip and step on creatures in their way. Kao tries rescuing the animal kingdom from the evil hunter and his henchmen in Atari Inc.&'s "Kao the Kangaroo Round 2," available for the Game Cube, PlayStation2 and Xbox systems, as well as various Windows systems. "Kao the Kangaroo Challenger," available for the Sony PlayStation Portable, adds one additional world to the "Round 2" game and features two "Deathmatch" and "Race" multi-player modes.
