Dinosaur Puzzle Games

Big dinosaurs, little dinosaurs, skinny dinosaurs and fat dinosaurs: Whatever the shape or size, kids love dinosaurs and they love puzzles. Combine the two and you've got an afternoon of entertainment on your hands. If you're giving prizes for the winners of the games make sure you have a prize for every child, even if it's only because they have the best dinosaur smile.
  1. Fold and Hide

    • Pass out stickers of different dinosaurs to each child. The stickers should be large so they're manageable for small hands. Cut each sticker into body parts: head, neck, shoulders, body, legs and feet. Take a sheet of paper and make five lines. Each child gets a sheet and pastes a dinosaur head on the first line. He folds over the sheet and passes it to another child. That child pastes on a neck that is below the first line and above the second line. The third child pastes on shoulders. The game continues until the dinosaur is complete. The prize goes to the funniest dinosaur, silliest and scariest.

    Puzzle Race

    • Glue pictures of dinosaurs to light cardboard. Cut the dinosaurs into puzzle pieces using an old puzzle as a guide. Use the same puzzle format for all the dinosaurs. Leave the face as one puzzle piece. Take a digital photo of each child and print it out so it's in scale to the picture of a dinosaur. Glue it on to the face puzzle piece. Scramble the pieces. Whichever child assembles his dinosaur the fastest wins.

    Mix Match

    • Use the same puzzle pieces as in the puzzle race game but mix them up so there are different dinosaurs in the same box for each child. The children have to cooperate with each other by trading pieces so they can assemble their dinosaur with the pieces that match.

    ABC- Dinosaur

    • Choose several different dinosaurs whose names begin with a different letter of the alphabet, one dinosaur per child. The child will have to find a food, place, piece of clothing, flower and pet starting with the same letter for each dinosaur. Place pictures of different food, places, clothing, flowers and animals a center box. For example: The dinosaur is stegosaurus who eats spinach, lives at school, wears sweaters, grows sunflowers and has a spaniel for a pet. Whoever assembles all the pieces wins.
