Fun Games for Young People

Teens and young adults are at a rather awkward point in their lives. They still like being kids, but they also are taking on more responsibilities and information. Thus, when it comes time to entertain young people, games have to have both elements of skill and silliness. Games that are messy or which poke fun at youth relationships are especially fun.
  1. Oil Racing

    • Oil racing is a hilarious physical game that uses oil and slip n&' slides. To play, the leader sets up multiple slip n&' slides outdoors in an open area. The leader covers the slip n&' slides with oil. Once the slip n&' slides are oiled, the players get into bathing suits and try to race down the slip n&' slides without falling. Players aren&'t allowed to walk on all fours or use their hands for balance as they race. The leader may set obstacles on the slip n&' slides to make the game more challenging. The game may be played as a relay or as a retrieval game in which players have to get objects along the course within a set time. Additionally, to improve cost, plastic drop cloths are a good substitute for the brand name slip n&' slides.

    Pudding Treasure Hunt

    • For Pudding Treasure Hunt, the host makes huge vats of pudding. He mixes all kinds of candy into the pudding and makes sure none of the candies show through the top of the pudding. Then players have to dig into the pudding for 60 seconds and find as much candy as they can. The player who finds the most candy is the winner. This game is best if the host uses vats that are deeper than they are wide and puts the candy mostly at the bottom. Afterward, players have fun hosing each other off.

    Honey, Do You Love Me

    • Honey, Do You Love Me is a traditional party game also known as Baby, If You Love Me and I Just Can&'t Smile. There are low-key and more adult versions of the game.

To play the basic version of the game, players all sit or stand in a circle with one person in the center. The person in the center, the leader, has to approach someone in the circle and say, "Honey, do you love me?" The person approached has to respond with "Honey, I love you, but I just can&'t smile." If the person approached smiles, then she becomes the person in the center and the first person who was in the center joins the circle. For the more adult version, everything is the same except that the person approached has to come to the center of the circle with the leader and participate in limited touching such as hand holding during the dialogue. Absolutely no groping is allowed. The leader and the person approached usually are of the opposite sex, but this doesn&'t need to be a hard rule.
