Friendship Games for Girls

Girls of all ages love friendship games. Many friendship games revolve around playfully finding out just how much you know about your friends, but these can also be adapted help you get to know new friends better. Friendship games are appropriate for settings such as sleepovers, camps, youth groups, Girl Scout meetings, and parties.
  1. How Well do You Know Your Friends?

    • The How Well do You Know Your Friends? game, from Family Fun, is a great game for sleepovers, and can be a fun way to help girls learn more about new friends. Girls pair up, then each is given a questionnaire about the other&'s "faves," or favorite things. Each girl fills in answers about their partner, such as "The CD in my player right now is...," "The TV show I can’t miss is...," and "I never leave home without..." The game offers a printable pink-and-purple template, but these lists can easily be handwritten.

    Silent Interview

    • Silent Interview is a good game for girls to cultivate both friendship and self-expression. Separate the group into pairs; have each girl communicate three things about herself--without speaking. Give each girl about 5 to 10 minutes to do this, then bring them all back together. Have every girl introduce her partner to the group, detailing the things she just learned--or thinks she learned!

    I&'m Your Friend

    • I&'m Your Friend is a great friendship game for younger girls. Have the girls sit in a group on the floor; put one girl in a chair with her back to the group and her eyes covered or closed. One of the girls in the group should approach the girl in the chair and say--in her best disguised or funny voice--"Do you know me? I&'m your friend." She then returns to her place, and the guessing begins. The girl on the chair may uncover her eyes and look at the group as she guesses. After three tries, a new girl takes the chair and the game begins again.
