Board Games
Young girls who love to play dress up might enjoy the dress up board game Pretty, Pretty Princess, a set of dress up Colorforms, paper dolls or magnetic dress up pieces. Fabric scraps also can be used to make clothes for a fashion doll or layered inside a wooden silhouette of a doll to make outfits. The wooden fashion designer sets are make by Woodkins and are available in several different styles.
Online Dress Up Games
Choose from a variety of online dress up games. Choose from popular characters such as Hannah Montana and Dora the Explorer to a Zwinky. A Zwinky or a WeeMee are cartoon characters that can be customized to look like a version of yourself. You can pick from a variety of outfits, accessories, hair colors and styles.
Makeovers
Girls of all ages often enjoy giving each other makeovers. Play a home version of the reality show, "What Not to Wear." Gather clothing and accessories such as hats, scarves and shoes in a room with a full-length mirror. The girls can take turns choosing outfits for one another. Send them to get their hair done and then makeup. Take digital photos of the transformation. Use the tips found on TLC&'s "What Not to Wear" website. Alternately, do a reverse makeover and have teens turn each other into "before" versions with bad makeovers. This can be a fun party activity for girls.
