Fun Group Games for Small Children

Games can be more fun when there are a group of children to make the games more enjoyable. Parents can offer the winners of group games a small gift that can create more initiative to play. A nice play area should be chosen for the game and some games can even be played indoors. Some group games can even have participants of all age groups share in the fun.
  1. Mummy wrap game

    • This game will have kids of all ages screaming in delight and requires lots of toilet tissue. The children should be divided into groups according to the number of children present. The goal is to wrap the mummy in as much tissue as possible. Each group is given two rolls of tissue. Each team has to decide which team member will be the mummy that represents the team. The monitor will yell “go” and the teams have to race to wrap the mummy in tissue. The first team to wrap the mummy wins the race. This process can be repeated several times using a different team member to represent the mummy. Parents can make the game more exciting by offering prizes to the team that wraps the most mummies.

    Spoon race game

    • The spoon race game can be played at parties or enjoyed by children just wanting to have fun. Divide the children into two groups; instruct the groups to line up one behind the other. The first person in each line is given a spoon and a boiled egg. Place a marker about 30 feet away from the group. The person holding the spoon should place the egg on the spoon. When the monitor yells “go”, the first person in line of each group must run to the marker and then back to the beginning of the line. When the runner returns, he hands the spoon to the next person in line who repeats the process. The object of the game is to allow all members in line to complete the process without dropping the egg. The first team to drop the egg loses the game.

    Prize Walk

    • Place numbers on the ground in a circle. The numbers can be simply written on a piece of paper. Write the same numbers on pieces of paper and put them into a hat. Instruct all children to stand in a circle surrounding the numbers. The parent or monitor plays music or if a radio or CD player isn’t available, the monitor can tap on a box simulating drums. When the music begins, the children must walk around the circle until the music stops. Pull a number out of hat and the child who is standing in front of the number that you have is the winner of the game.
