Vampire Games for Kids

Classic vampires like Count Dracula, as well as those appearing in TV series like "The Munsters," "Sesame Street" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," have entertained fans for decades. While some vampire-oriented material may not be suitable for all ages, younger kids can play some kid-friendly games to satisfy their vampire interest.
  1. The Dracula Files

    • Keen on avenging his defeat at the hands of the Van Helsing and Harker families more than a century prior, Dracula returns in eGames&' "The Dracula Files," available as a free trial download for various Windows systems.

Players embark on a hidden-object adventure to help the Van Helsing and Harker descendants defeat Dracula, now in the identity of business tycoon Vladimir Draco. After choosing to play in "Timed" or "Unlimited" mode, players search for cursed artifacts and holy relics, and battle various creatures of the night. When searching rooms, players press a magic eye at the bottom right of the screen for clues.

    Pretend Play

    • Kids may create their own vampire adventures with various playsets, action figures and plush toys depicting vampire characters. While younger kids may not watch some vampire-oriented TV programs or movies, they may still want to play with toys depicting vampire characters. For these pretend-play adventures or Halloween, kids may dress up in vampire costumes, complete with cape, fake ears, fangs, makeup and masks.

    Transylmania

    • Vampy must transform pesky villagers into the "living dead" before returning to his coffin in "Transylmania," accessible at the Kaboose site. As Vampy, players press the "Left" and "Right" arrow keys to move, the "Up" arrow key to fly and the spacebar to jump. Upon coming into contact with fire, pointy sticks, sunlight and water, players&' good health declines. Once players have transformed all villagers, Vampy&'s coffin opens. Upon jumping into the coffin before time runs out, players advance to the next level; should players run out of time before reaching the coffin if their good health depletes, the game ends. Players also may try "Transylmania 2: The Vampire Bites Back!" at Kaboose&'s Funschool site.
