Rock identification
At the Geology for Kids website you can find the "Who am I" rock identification game. In the game you are given a picture of a rock and three of its characteristics. You must choose the correct type from the list of igneous, meromorphic and sedimentary rocks. The game was created to help children learn about the different types of rocks that make up our world.
Extreme Geology Challenge
At the Discovery Channel website you will find the Extreme Geology Challenge, a game that lets you interact with different environments around the world. Climb glaciers in Alaska, bike down the mountains of Hawaii and swim through the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The game includes facts about each of the five environments you are able to explore.
Virtual Volcano
Control your own volcano at Discovery Kids. The virtual volcano allows kids to control the gas and viscosity of their own volcano and watch the eruption that is created. As the eruption takes place, icons appear that provide information on the plume, debris, ash and lava flow created by the volcano.
