Jump Cow Jump!
Based on the nursery rhyme "Hey, Diddle Diddle," this online game is free and has bright, bold graphics sure to keep your preschooler interested. A smiling purple and white cow stands waiting as moons roll up to it. Your child is to press the space bar just before the moon touches the cow. The cow will jump and hang in the air as the moon passes under it. If it is a successful jump the player earns a star, but if he jumps too late the moon will hit the cow, and if he jumps too soon the cow will come down from the sky before the moon has gone by. Either way it counts as a miss and the cow spirals off into the distance, to return a moment later to try again. A counter at the bottom of the screen tracks misses. If he misses five, your preschooler must start over. However, if he jumps the moon eight times, he wins the game. A link to this game is in the references section of this article.
