Dog Bath Games

Bath time for Fido was never this fun. Adding some real games---or some virtual ones---makes an ordinary event much more interesting. Dogs that enjoy bath time are much easier to bathe, since they are happy to see the tub and willingly hop in. For kids who like bathing the family pet, there are online games that offer the fun of the bath without the mess.
  1. Pet-Grooming Studio

    • In the online Pet-Grooming Studio game, you just got a job grooming dogs, and today is your first day of work. Enter the shop and choose a pet to work on. Complete a series of actions revolving around bathing and grooming the dog. First wash it, using a sponge to cover the dog with suds. Next, use the sprayer to rinse off the suds, then towel the pet partially dry. Use the dryer to blow it completely dry, brush out its coat and trim its nails, then add the finishing touch with a collar and bow or a bandanna to complete your grooming session. Go back and choose another dog to bathe, or, if you are feeling brave, pick one of the cats waiting to be groomed. Kids 4 to 8 will enjoy this game (a link to this game appears in the References section).

    Dukey Bath

    • Dukey the dog hates baths, but it's time to go into the tub. This online game is done in the style of the classic hangman game. Dukey Bath challenges you to fill in the blanks and figure out the challenge words as Dukey clings to a rope over a water-filled tub. Every time you miss a letter, Dukey drops closer to its bath. If you solve the puzzle Dukey is spared, but if you miss too many letters Dukey lands in the water. Follow the link in the References section to see if you can get this pup into the tub.

    Bath Time

    • Teach your dog to love bath time. Put it in the tub, but don't turn on the water. Roll a ball or put one of its favorite toys in the bottom of the tub. If the dog is small enough, encourage it to chase the toy around, or if the dog is bigger, have it reach down and grab the toy (be careful that your dog doesn't slip). Grab the toy and give your dog a treat, then give it the toy again. When the dog is focused on the game, turn on the water. Try to keep the dog's attention by moving the toy around, encouraging it to grab the toy. Keep trading the toy for little treats and begin to get the dog wet, starting with its feet. Continue with the bath, but leave washing the dog's head until last. If it is busy playing the game with you, it won't worry so much about the fact that you are giving it a bath. This is an ideal game for puppies and for dogs that hate baths.
