Riding the Word Problem Train into History
Riding the Word Problem Train into History is intended for ages 8 to 12 years and suitable for two to four players. Kids enjoy traveling around the game board, moving in and out of various areas, learning about history and solving five different types of math word problems. Single and multiple step and estimation problems apply. Players visit the ancient pyramids of Giza, the battles of Napoleon and the Great Wall of China and learn important historical facts while visiting. Game cards offer information in world history and geography. Additional games, stories and activities are also included. Be the first person to make it around the board and win the game.
Finding Someone's Age
Finding Someone's Age is a fun number trick for ages 10 and older. It takes two people to pull this trick off--the one providing the answer and a willing participant. To begin, the trickster asks his partner to multiply the first number of his age by five. Next, tell him to add three and then double this figure. Finally, have the play-along person add the second digit of his age to the figure and then reveal his answer. Deduct six and you will be able to reveal your willing participant's age.
Sum Swamp
The Sum Swamp game is intended for ages 5 to 7 and suitable for two to four players. Kids travel around the board journeying in and out of the swamp and solving math equations. Addition and subtraction are both options. Players roll three dice on each turn. Two of the dice have numbers and act as the sources for the equation. The third dice boasts either a plus or minus sign, informing the student of which type of computing he is required to complete. Crocodile Short Cut and Endless Loop are two special areas that offer challenging spaces. Short cut, evens or odds and number spaces are all applicable. The first player to reach the finish space is the winner.
