Duck Duck Goose
One player is "It" while the others sit on the ground in a circle. "It" walks around the outside of the circle saying "Duck" as she taps each player on the head---that is, until she decides to name one "Goose." The goose then gets up and chases "It" around the circle to tap her before she takes his seat. If he succeeds, "It" must sit in the middle of the circle until the goose---who is now "It" whether he catches her or not---tags someone else.
I Spy
One player "spies" something nearby and gives the others a clue. He may use the color of the object or the letter it begins with, but he must begin by saying, "I spy, with my little eye, something ..." For example, if he sees a green car he might say, "I spy, with my little eye, something that is green." He answers only yes or no as the other players try to guess what he spies.
Hide and Seek
The player who is "It" closes her eyes and counts slowly---and loudly---to 10. While "It" does this, the other players find places to hide. When "It" reaches 10, she cries, "Ready or not, here I come!" She then goes to find each of the other players to tag them before they can reach sneak back to "base"---where "It" was counting at the beginning of the game. The first person she tags becomes "It" for the next round.
Hot Potato
The players stand in a circle and someone starts a music recording. (This person can't be part of the circle.) The players pass a ball quickly among themselves pretending it's a hot potato. They can throw it across the circle or pass it to someone nearby as they please. This continues until the person near the stereo stops the music. The player who has the ball at that time is out of the game.
Human Knot
All players stand in a circle facing one another. Each one then holds hands with two different players, so the end result is a "knot" of arms in the middle of the circle. The players then move around to untangle the knot and form a neat circle with each player holding hands with the people on either side of him. No one may let go of another player's hand, or everyone must start over and form a new knot.
