Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger hunts involve dividing the youth group into teams. A good size for teams is three or four, but the groups can be of any size that makes sense for your youth group. Hand out a list of items for the group to find, with different items being worth different points. The group is then unleashed either in a previously defined area or wherever they can get to in search of the items on the list. At the end of a predetermined time period members of the youth group reconvene to see who has scored the most points.
Manhunt
Manhunt is a game that combines elements of hide and seek, tag and capture the flag. Divide the youth group up into two teams. One team has several minutes to hide from the other team. After that time has expired, the second team begins hunting the first team. When a player has been found he is not tagged -- the hunting player must catch him before he goes off to jail. Players escape from jail when a member of their own team tags them. Players switch sides when all players of one team have been placed in jail.
Bike Trip
Get together on your bikes and explore your local community. Those with extra bikes in the family can bring them for those who don't have bikes. From there, the youth group can explore the area around your church or community center, or take off for bike paths and off-road trails. Bike repair kits, first aid kits and rides home for bikes and people that may not make the entire trip are necessary for safe fun for all.
Board Game Nights
Everyone has old board games laying around the house. If you get enough of these together you can have a whole night dedicated to them. Youth group members can rotate around different board games, playing several in one night. Alternately, you can set a time limit for each game and have people take over the role of others in different games.
