Catholic Games for Little Kids

Caring for little kids can be a hassle or it can be a whole lot of fun. Games are an easy way to keep kids busy and entertained. Here are several Catholic games that can keep your little ones out of trouble while providing them with an interest in Christian values.
  1. Noah's Ark

    • Noah's Ark is a fun game to play with a large group of kids, preferably more than 20. In this game, you choose one kid to be Noah and another kid to be Noah's helper. If you are playing with a larger group of kids, more than 30, you can choose three helpers to assist Noah. All other kids are assigned the role of animals. They are to run around inside a wide-open playing area. Noah and his helper must then run around and try to catch one of the animals by grabbing him by the hand. Once grabbed, the animal (kid) must try to grab another animal (kid) with his free hand before being hauled off the playing field and into the ark.

    Holy Trinity

    • This game is a variation of tag. One kid is chosen to be "it." All other kids are to run around inside a safe playing area while music is played. Once the music stops, the kid who is "it" then runs around and tries to tag as many kids as possible. There are no bases in this game. The only thing that will keep the other kids safe from being tagged is if they form a group of three after the music stops. If the kid who is "it" tags a kid who is not already part of a group of three, that kid is out of the game and must sit down. Kids are not allowed to group with the same kids twice in a row. Once all the kids are formed into groups of three, the music is played again and the game continues.

    Jericho's Castle

    • Start by having the kids stand in a circle. Choose one kid to be Jericho and place her in the middle of the circle with a cone. The cone is Jericho's Castle. Jericho stands in the middle of the circle and straddles the cone to protect it from being knocked down. Give the other kids in the circle a small, inflatable ball. They are to pass the ball around the circle until one of the kids feels he has a clear shot to throw the ball and knock over Jericho's Castle. Once a kid knocks over the castle with the ball, that kid becomes the new Jericho.
