Bus Trip Games for Kids

Scavenger Hunt

• A scavenger hunt is a fun game idea for kids to play on a long bus trip. It will keep them occupied the entire trip. Type up a list of common items that are seen while driving on a road trip. These might include a stoplight, bike, semi truck, sky scraper, grocery store, construction sign, billboard and so on. Print out a copy of the list for each child and ask them to bring a pen. Tell them to cross off each item as they see it while driving. At the end see who found the most items. He or she is the winner.

License Plate Game

• Print out a list of the fifty states for each child on the bus and tell them to search for license plates from each state. Make sure each of them have a pen. Have them cross out the state when they see a license plate from that state. Make it a bonus if they see license plates from other Countries like Canada or Mexico. The kid who find the most can be named winner or you can make it a group game and give each kid a small prize, like a piece of candy, all the state are found.

Pipe Cleaner Animals

• Pipe cleaner animals is a fun game that will occupy kids for hours. Hand out a few pipe cleaners, about five to ten, to each child. They can be found at any craft supply store. Make sure that you offer different colors and sizes. Tell the kids to create the best creature that they can. The best thing about pipe cleaners is that they can be bent into several different shapes which will allow the kids to make many different animals along the trip.
