Circle Toss
In this icebreaker game, the leader instructs the group to form a circle and then presents several objects that can be thrown safely such as a ball or a rubber ring. The leader takes one of the objects and throws it to one kid while saying the child's name. The kid then throws the object to someone else while saying that child's name. The game continues on this way until the object gets back to the leader, who then chooses another object and repeats the process. Make the icebreaker game more interesting by timing it or having the kids stand in a different order.
Face to Face
The group leader randomly pairs up kids and introduces them to each other. The leader then gives the entire group a topic to discuss with the person they are paired with for 30 seconds. Once 30 seconds are up, the leader assigns new partners and offers a new topic for discussion.
Two Truths and a Lie
In this icebreaker game, all of the kids come up with two true facts about themselves and one lie, then take turns telling the others their three items. The group then discusses and agrees on which statements they believe to be true and which is the lie. The leader then tells the group the correct answer, and the kids can discuss the things they just learned about the new person.
Candy Ice Breaker
The leader puts enough candy in a bowl for each kid to take a maximum of five pieces. The kids are told they can each pick one to five pieces of candy. After the kids takes their candy, they then must tell something about themselves for each piece of candy they took. When they are finished, they can eat the candy.
