Nursery Activity Games for Kids

Nursery school is the very beginning stage of organized learning for children. Nursery school is an excellent time to begin teaching children in the form of fun games and activities. There are a variety of nursery activity games for kids that cover learning about animals, holidays, seasons and even math. These types of activity games will prove that learning is fun.
  1. Matching Numbers

    • Using six plastic eggs, mark half of each egg with the numbers one through six. Mark the other half of each egg with dots that correspond to the number. Mix the eggs up and set them out for the children. Tell the children to find the numbers that match the amount of dots. When a pair is found, have the child connect the two halves of the egg together.

    Sound Bottles

    • Explore the way different items create different sounds. Fill plastic bottles or plastic eggs with various items such as salt, paper clips, rice or beans. Let the children shake the bottles or eggs and listen to the sounds. You can even have them guess what items make which sounds.

    Size Detectives

    • This is a fun activity for outdoors. Have the children go on a size search. Point to objects and ask the children to tell you which of the two objects is bigger or smaller, wider or narrower.

    Modeling Dough Names

    • Give the children modeling dough and teach them how to twist it to make long ropes. Tell them to mold the long dough ropes into the letters of their names.

    Jellybean Estimate

    • Fill a clear plastic jar with jelly beans. Ask the children to tell you how many jelly beans they think are in the jar. Empty the jar and count the jelly beans with them. If you use a variety of colored jelly beans you can then separate them into color groups.
