Freeze Tag
The point of freeze tag is that after "it" tags her, she must freeze in place. Whoever is "it" at the beginning of the game must remain so for the entirety of the game. Players tagged by "it" and, as a result, frozen may reach out their arms to tag anybody who runs too close, thus freezing them as well. The game ends when "it" tags everyone. The last person remaining is "it" at the start of the next game.
Duck Duck Goose
A popular variation of tag for preschoolers and kindergarten students is "duck duck goose." This game requires children to all sit in a circle as one child walks around the outside of it, tapping each child on the head while calling each one of them a duck. But eventually, he taps a person and yells "goose" instead. Now that child has to stand up from the circle and chase his tagger around the circle, tagging him back before the tagger sits down at the open space in the circle after making one full lap. If the tagger sits in the spot, the "goose" now becomes the tagger for the next round. But, if the tagger gets tagged by the "goose" before sitting in the open spot, the tagger must repeat the process and select another "goose" to chase him.
Pac-Man
Play this variation of tag on the basketball court of an indoor gym. It receives its name from the classic Pac-Man arcade video game. Players must constantly walk only on the lines on the court, be it the out-of-bounds lines, halfcourt line, three-point line or free-throw lines. If a player steps off a line, she is out of the game. The player who is "it" is called Pac-Man and must tag those who are unable to escape from his tag. When Pac-Man tags players, they must sit down and stay in that spot where Pac-Man tagged them for the rest of the game. They are now "ghosts" who can tag any of the remaining walking players who come too close to their reach. The last player to be tagged wins and becomes Pac-Man at the start of the next round.
