Barbie Wedding Dress Up Games

Barbie remains one of the most popular children's toy brands, thanks in part to the longtime romance between Barbie and Ken. Fans of Mattel's famous doll and the idealized romance between Barbie characters can prepare for a wedding̵2;either for Barbie and Ken or for other characters̵2;by engaging in various wedding dress-up games.
  1. Doll Games

    • Kids can hold their own Barbie wedding parties and ceremonies with dolls, a doll-sized wedding wardrobe and accessories. With all the wedding-themed Barbie products Mattel has manufactured through the years, kids can hold events celebrating every aspect of a Barbie nuptials. If kids lack certain dolls, accessories or playsets, search sites such as Amazon or eBay to find older or discontinued items.

Using an assortment of doll outfits, kids may dress female and male dolls for engagement parties and bridal showers (even "groom showers"). For wedding ceremonies, kids can set up the Barbie "Wedding Chapel Playset," which transforms from an outdoor chapel setting to a wedding reception, complete with gift boxes. When the time comes to dress the wedding party (bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl and ring bearer), kids can adorn the dolls with dresses, bouquets, tuxedos, flowers, handkerchief and ring. Kids can have different dolls alternate playing each role for multiple ceremonies and dress the dolls in varying wedding outfits.

    Role-Play Games

    • Kids get in on the dress-up action with Mattel's "Wedding Cake Playset," which comes with removable bride and groom cake toppers and child-size engagement ring, tiara and veil. Kids may take the role-play even further by dressing in child-size wedding costumes, gathering their own flower bouquets and accessories, and taking turns dressing as various members of a wedding party.

Check Mattel's online shop or outlets like Amazon for child-size Barbie-style clothing and accessories that would turn children's pretend wedding adventures into stylish events. Children may take turns playing different members of the wedding party so they get the chance to dress up in multiple outfits.

    Barbie As Princess Bride

    • Barbie and Ken finally marry in Mattel Interactive's "Barbie as Princess Bride," available for Mac and Windows systems. Players help Barbie prepare for her big day as she waits for Ken to return from a sea journey. Barbie's magic mirror has 12 jewels surrounding it, representing 12 games. As players complete activities, Ken's image becomes clearer in the mirror.

While this game does not focus strictly on dress-up, players do help Barbie design and customize her wedding dress and bouquet, as well as the dress and bouquet for the flower girl. In addition to choosing Barbie's perfect wedding dress, players must deliver invitations to woodland animals; design, bake and decorate a wedding cake; retrieve wedding items that accidentally slipped into a well; help musicians; navigate Ken's ship home; toss coins into the wishing fountain to make Barbie's dream come to fruition; and customize the wedding photo.

    Wedding Super Stylist

    • Mattel's "Wedding Super Stylist" game, accessible at the Barbie I Can Be... site, lets players design a wedding ring, cake and dress. Players choose what they want to design, clicking on various options and styles to see which they like best. Players may click "Bride Book" to see how items look inside the wedding scrapbook pages.

For players to gain access to the wedding dress, they must register with the Mattel site and enter a code from an "I Can Be..." Barbie doll package (available at retail stores or online). On the game page, players log in and click "Go" on the bottom left of the screen, where it reads "Got a code?" Activating the code allows players to unlock game features.
