Homemade Ring Toss Game

Ring toss games are common at state and local fairs. Children and adults alike enjoy pitting their skills against the bottles. Making a similar game at home is easy, and it's an entertaining activity to have at the ready when you need to occupy a large group of children during a party or picnic.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase the rings. Children's bracelets are the perfect size. You can find them in the children's section at most stores, or at a dollar store.

    • 2

Collect 20 to 30 water bottles, sport drink bottles with tall necks or 20-ounce soda bottles. They can be full or empty. The setup works best if the bottles are all the same size and have tall necks.

    • 3

Decide on a pattern. Straight rows and columns are the easiest, and the number of bottles in each row will depend on how many you have. For example, if you have 20 bottles, make four rows with five bottles each. If you have 30 bottles, five rows of six bottles would work.

    • 4

Place one row on a table. Put the bottles on their sides, one next to the other.

    • 5

Tape them together with one long strip of tape. Do this with all of the rows you are making.

    • 6

Put two rows on top of each other, with the last bottle of each row hanging off the side of the table.

    • 7

Take a piece of tape and wrap it around the two bottles hanging over the side. Repeat this step with all of the rows.

    • 8

Set the bottles upright and begin play.
