Bible Story Play
Children love to express themselves by portraying different characters. A fun activity for children is a Bible story play. You can write the play yourself, based on a Bible story and assign characters to each child. The children will then make costumes and recite the lines for the next few weeks. Parents are then invited to watch the final production. You can also split the children up into three groups and ask them to choose a story out of the bible and create a play of their own.
Bible Word Game
The Bible word game involves unscrambling words from the Bible. Use index cards to write down word scrambles. Write down the actual name in pencil on the bottom of the back of each card. Mix up the words on the front of the card. The words chosen should reflect the age group. For instance, if this game is for grade school children, choose names from the Bible or easy words that they would know. However, you can also add a few more difficult words if you know some of the children may be able to figure them out. This can make the game more challenging. Just be sure to mix it up.
Noah's Ark Rainbow Craft
The Noah's Ark Rainbow Craft is a creative way for children to learn Bible verses. To do this craft, you will need large, thick craft paper 24 inches on a side. Children can construct their own boat from paper plates and color the plates brown before gluing them on. A paper plate cut in half can serve as the bottom portion of the boat.
Kid's can also draw the boat along with water and even people on the deck. The main idea though is to paint a large rainbow with light pastel colors. Children can then choose their favorite bible verses about the story of Noah and write this on the rainbow strips. Kids can then share their project in front of the class while reading their verses. This is a combination of a craft and activity because of the classroom demonstration. When doing this at home, children can share their craft with the family.
