Kid's Kickball Games

Popular on Elementary school playgrounds, sports fields and in parks across the country, Kickball is a fun, active game that encourages team work and lots of exercise. Whether you are playing it with the family over the weekend, at summer camp or having a full-blown Kickball birthday party, kids of all ages enjoy the kicking, running and throwing involved during play. Many versions of this game are available and just as fun to play as the original.
  1. Alien Kickball

    • In Alien Kickball divide the group into two teams. Team 1 is in the outfield and Team 2 is at bat. Place the boundary cones near the pitcher. The space in between the cones and home plate is the safety zone. The fielding team can not stand past these cones until the ball is kicked. A Team 2 player kicks the ball and then runs around the rest of his group, huddled nearby for this move. Every full pass the player makes counts 100 points. While this is happening Team 1 must retrieve the ball and pass it person to person, in between their legs from the point of retrieval up until the home plate. Once this has happened, Team 2 yells and Team 1 stops accumulating points. The total is written down for later tallying. The game ends after every player on each team gets an opportunity to kick the ball and run around in circles. The team with the most points wins.

    Team In The Middle

    • Team In The Middle requires participants split into two teams. Team 2 is in the middle of a rope boundary. Team 1 is divided equally on either side of Team 2 along the rope. Team 1 players try to pass the ball to Team 1 players on the other side. Team 2 tries to intercept the ball. Chest passing, rolling and bouncing are the only moves available to players trying to complete passes. Each successful pass earns 1000 points. Intercepted balls are an out and each team is allowed three outs during their passing turn.

    6 Base Kickball

    • Six Base Kickball requires six spots in addition to the ball for play. Divide the group into two teams and send Team 1 to bat first. Team 2 is in the field. Set the bases up in a long rectangle with bases one, two and three going up one side away from the kicking team and four, five and six coming down the other side. Make sure one and six are across from each other. The first Team 1 player kicks the ball and makes the run covering as many bases as he can complete. Play continues with each player kicking and base players advancing additional bases on kicks until he reaches home plate or gets tagged out. If runners are between bases and a Team 2 base catcher receives the ball, taps the base and yells "gotcha," then runners are also out. When a player makes it all the way around to sixth base, his team receives 5000 points. Team 2 scores three outs and teams switch places. The game ends after every player on both teams gets a chance to kick the ball twice or to the end of three innings.
