Draw a square directly onto the fabric using the measurements needed for the large bean bag. Most standard size bean bags are 4" to 6" square, so a large bean bag would be at least 8" square. Cut out the square and use it as a pattern to cut out a second square.
Place the two squares on top of each other and pin them together. Using the sewing machine, sew three sides of the square together end to end. On the fourth side of the square, sew the side closed, but leave a 1" opening.
Remove the straight pins and turn the fabric right side out by pulling it through the opening on the fourth side. Place the funnel inside the opening and pour the beans or rice directly into the bag. Fill the bag about 3/4 of the way.
Carefully tuck the raw ends of the fabric at the opening in and pin closed. Sew the opening closed. Make sure the stitches are tight to prevent the beans or rice from falling out.
