Fun Fashion Games for Kids

A fashion-themed birthday party or other get-together can be tons of fun for kids when the activities allow their creativity to run free. Whether it's a group of kids who know each other well or children who need a few icebreaker games to get things going, these fashion-game ideas will get everyone excited to be involved.
  1. Decorating Station

    • With fashion-designing television shows rising in popularity, many youngsters are becoming interested in designing and wearing their own fashion creations. You can set up a decoration station by providing plain tops to which the kids can add their own designs. Depending on the age of the group, you might offer fabric paint, metal studs, buttons, ribbon, jewels or other decorative details for them to use. For inspiration, bring out fashion magazines or provide stencils and patterns for them to follow.

    Fashion Runway Show

    • After their designs are completed, host an exciting runway show for them to model their creations. They will need to accessorize their new looks, though, so you will want to have some options ready. Prepare a box full of fun dress-up accessories like feather boas, glittery shoes, pretty scarves, hats or wigs, clip-on earrings and more.

Hang up a solid-colored sheet for a backdrop and line up chairs to create a modeling runway. A designated announcer, such as a chaperon or parent, can announce each model and describe her look as she shows off her own design. Kids can take turns being audience members and models. Be sure to capture the show on camera for everyone to watch together later.

    Beauty &Fashion Trivia

    • For older kids, a trivia session can be a great option. When the festivities have calmed down a bit or guests are snacking, test their beauty and fashion knowledge by asking questions and having the kids raise their hands to answer. For example, have them name three famous supermodels or designers, or ask them a trivia question about Coco Chanel's life with a multiple-choice answer.

This can be even more fun when the kids are split into groups and can collaborate. Each group should designate someone to raise her hand to answer the questions. Keep score to find out who gets the most answers correct. The group with the most correct answers is the winner, and the participants are dubbed "fashion gurus."
