Nintedo DS
Nintendo DS produces several games targeted to girls. The Charm Girls Club series, for instance, enourages the player and a group of virtual friends to plan, manage and organize for success. In these games, the player manages a mall in My Fashion Mall; designs clothing and organizes a runway show in My Fashion Show; and plans, executes and attends her prom in My Perfect Prom.
For the adventurous girl, try Imagine: Detective. In this game, the player takes on the role of tween detective Kirsten Spark. The player helps Kristin Spark use her karate skills and photographic memory to solve mysteries by clicking on suspicious objects, completing challenges like sneaking into a room undetected, and playing mini games in-between.
Nintendo Wii
Nintendo Wii's interactive games for girls allow them to take active roles. Aspiring chefs age six and up can enjoy Cooking Mama World Kitchen. In this game, the Wii remote acts as a cooking utensil, allowing girls to complete a variety of kitchen activities such as cutting, dicing, grating and stirring. The game teaches players to cook a number of dishes and features cooking games and challenges, while offering a comedic aspect that will entertain the whole family. In a similar vein, Cake Mania: In the Mix lets the player bake, frost and decorate cakes to her liking.
Budding performers may like Dancing with the Stars or Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour. Dancing with the Stars prompts girls to train and perform different dances with professional dancers. In Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour, girls can act as the pop star herself and tour the world, while also designing the stage set while offstage.
