Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut the piece of wood with the jig saw to 8 inches long. From the 4-inch side, measure down one-and-a-half inches and make a mark. Measure six inches along the 8-inch side and make a mark. Draw two lines along the flat side of the gun and cut out with the jig saw so the wood looks like the template. The "barrel" of the gun should be 1-1/2 inch thick, and the handle should be two inches thick.
Cut a notch about an eighth of an inch deep along the tip of the barrel, a half-inch from the top. The rubber band will fit into this groove.
Paint the gun any desired color. Add design details such as a police officer's badge, numbers, stripes or code name. When the paint is dry, varnish the gun and allow it to dry completely.
Glue a clothespin with the handle side down onto the back of the handle of the gun. To fire a rubber band, place it in the groove, then stretch it back and clip it into the clothespin. Un-clip the clothespin to let the rubber band shoot.
