Barbie Dress-Up Charades
Ask your daughter and her friends to choose their favorite Barbie dolls and outfits. Next, give them five minutes to rummage through the house and find anything that might help them to dress up like their favorite Barbie dolls. All of the dress-up clothes are to be put into a big box. The favorite dolls are placed into another box that is covered with a cloth. Upon her turn, each child secretly chooses one doll from the doll box without looking and then has 30 seconds to choose dress-up clothes from the other box. Using the dress-up clothes, she tries to act like the Barbie she chose while the other girls guess who she is.
Barbie Matching Card Game
Each child receives two blank index cards and then takes a photo of her favorite Barbie doll with a digital camera. The digital photos are uploaded to the computer and printed twice by a supervising adult. Each girl glues her matching Barbie photos onto her index cards. Once the glue has dried, the cards are shuffled and placed picture-side-down onto the table. The girls have fun turning over the cards and trying to find matches. The player who finds the most matches wins.
Barbie Masquerade
During the Barbie Masquerade, kids dress up as their favorite Barbie dolls and assume their character for the duration of the festivities. Provide blank white plates for creating Barbie masks. Don't forget yarn or wigs for creating hair. Brown paper bags can be cut, colored and used to make tops and skirts. The girls can use their favorite Barbie dolls as guides as they work and even have their photo taken next to the Barbie they are imitating.
Barbie Fashion Contest
The Barbie fashion contest is an opportunity for the girls to see who can most creatively incorporate her Barbie doll into her everyday outfit. One girl might find that her Barbie is quite stylish on the outside of her purse, while another finds that she rides well in a pocket or sits comfortably on top of a hat. The object is to get creative about using Barbie as an accessory in an outfit and then to strut down the runway for all to see. Pictures can be taken and voted on to determine who has the most creative use of Barbie.
