Survivor Party Games
Line up tiki torches or candles in two sets of two rows next to each other and put a scarecrow at the end of the row. Have the kids divide into two teams. The goal is to light all the candles and then dress the scarecrow first. If you use tiki torches, make sure they aren't too high for the kids to be able to light them safely.
Wrap chocolate fish in foil. You'll need a large number of these fish. Divide the kids into teams and have them unwrap the fish and see who can eat the most. Make sure that the kids aren't allergic to the ingredients in the chocolate (most chocolate is off limits for kids with a nut allergy) before planning this game.
Give each team a list of the colors of the rainbow and a bag. Tell the teams to find objects outside that are the same color as each color of the rainbow. The teams should put these objects in the bag. Note that each object can only represent one color.
Use two stumps or milk crates and put them between 6 and 12 feet apart. You'll also need 30 feet of rope. This is a game between two people. The idea is to get the other person to step off their stump or fall off of it. Strength isn't everything in this game since a player can loosen the rope if the other player starts to pull hard which could cause the tugging player to lose their balance. Make sure that the game is played on a soft surface in case someone falls instead of steps off their stump. To make the game last longer, you could make it a tournament where each winner plays another winner until there is only one winner left.
A fun survivor-theme party game that is good for all ages is Dressed and Undressed. Make two piles of clothes--they should be the same type of clothes. Divide the kids into two teams. The teams should be even numbers. Line up the teams. The first person in each line puts all the clothes on that are in their team's pile. Then they take them all off. The next person in line does the same. The first team to have all the members dress and then undress wins.
When in doubt, talk to your child about the games you are planning. Make sure she is comfortable with the games and think that her friends will enjoy them.
