Snow White's Poison Apple
This game is a bit scavenger hunt with a dash of hide-and-go-seek. Tell the story of how Snow White ate the poisonous apple that was cooked up by the wicked queen. Tell the girls that the wicked queen dropped by earlier today and hid poisonous apples all over your house. The girls need to find the apples before Snow White finds them and takes a bite.
Purchase a large bag of red apples and tie a green ribbon around one of the apple's stems to create the pretend poison apple. Another way to create a pretend poison apple is to purchase red apples but you could also paint one black or multicolored to make it look poisonous and scary. You can hide only one poison applem, or many if you want multiple winners.
Hide all of the apples throughout the party space. Utilize your yard and other rooms in your house, if you are throwing the party at home. Give each girl a small bag or basket to collect the apples. You want the girls to pick up all the apples---even the good ones. The first girl to find the poisonous apple wins a small prize.
Pin the Tail on Eeyore
Throw a Winnie the Pooh party for your toddler and play pin the tail on Eeyore instead of a random donkey. Purchase a large cut out picture of Eeyore from the local party store or make your own by tracing or drawing Eeyore freehand on a large poster board. Use donkey tails from another pin the tail on the donkey game from the party store or you can make your own tails using heavy craft paper, markers and pink and white ribbon.
Tell the kids that Eeyore lost his tail while on his way back from Christopher Robbin's house. Can they help pin it on him? Give each child a tail with a piece of rolled up scotch tape on the back and ask them to line up a few feet away from the poster board that you've hung on a wall. Blindfold the first child in line, gently turn him around a few times then let him find Eeyore. Have a few parents on hand to help you guide the blindfolded child.
Donald Donald Duck
Make Donald Duck your next duck, duck, goose game master of ceremonies and play Donald, Donald Duck instead. This is a great game for preschoolers and even toddlers to play during a birthday party or even during a rainy afternoon. Read a story about Donald Duck aloud to your group. You can check out many Disney character books from your local library or you could even show the kids a DVD featuring the trouble Donald and his nephews get into.
Now it's time to play Donald Donald Duck! Gather your group into a circle and ask one child to be the first one to round the circle. The child walks around the circle and taps each child on the head. As he taps each child's head he needs to say "Donald" to the child until he is ready for a chase and then taps the child's head and says, "Duck!" The child whose head was tapped jumps up from where she was sitting and chases the other player around the circle in an effort to tag him. If the child sits in the other child's place in the circle he is safe. If he gets tagged he is out of the game.
