Frog Games for Kids

Frog games are fun for kids of all ages. Frog games can be perfect for a birthday party, a rainy day or to cure boredom. These games can easily be paired with educational lessons to help bring the frog to life in a new and fun way.
  1. Frog Pond Toss

    • For this game, you need a small plastic swimming pool for a mock pond, green construction paper and one plastic frog per child. Cut out lily pads of various sizes and shapes from the construction paper. Place the lily pads into the dry plastic swimming pool. Give each child a frog and show the children where to stand, usually one to two feet away from the side of the pool. Give each a chance to get his frog on a lily pad by tossing into the pond. Offer prizes to those that get their frog on the lily pad.

    Frog Hop Race

    • Create a start and finish line at least 10 feet apart with a strip of tissue paper taped to the ground. Divide the children into even-numbered teams. Team members hop one at a time to the finish line. The next frog in line is allowed to start when the person in front of her reaches the finish line. The team who has all of its frogs across the finish line first wins the race.

    Frog, Frog, Tadpole

    • Select one child to be "it" first. The rest of the children should sit in a circle. The child will walk around the circle tapping the head of each of their friends and saying "frog" until he gets to the person he wants to be "it" next. The child says: "Tadpole!" The tadpole jumps up and runs around the circle after the child who is "it." The child who is it will try to get to the tadpole's empty seat before being tagged. If the tadpole does not catch the child who is it, the tadpole is now "it" and the process is repeated. If the tadpole does tag the person who is "it," the same child who was "it" first is "it" again.
