Plan the Game
Prior to your little girl's sleepover, ask her what kind of hairdressing game she would like to play. Offer her the ideas of having a hairdressing competition, trying to copy hairstyles out of a magazine, learning to braid or doing simple makeovers. She may decide she wants to do only one of those things, or she may have an idea of her own.
Gather Supplies
Once you and your daughter have decided on a hairdressing game for her sleepover, you will need to gather the appropriate supplies. Make sure that you purchase enough supplies for all of the children. You will need brushes, combs, non-pulling hair bands, gels and oils, barrettes and bobby pins. Check your local dollar store to find these items at reduced prices.
Get Permission
Before your daughter and her friends play hairdressing games, be sure that it is okay with the parents of each child. Also, ensure that none of the girls have been exposed to or currently have lice before they share any brushes, barrettes or other materials.
Supervise the Game
Once you have obtained permission from the parents, make sure to supervise the hairdressing games that your daughter and her friends participate in. Make sure that they do not have access to scissors. You would not want anybody going home with a strange haircut! You might offer to help with getting tangles out of hair. If your daughter decided on learning to braid at her sleepover, be there to show her and her friends how to braid. Be ready to answer questions and help as needed.
Commemorate the Game
Once all of the girls have had their hair styled, be sure to commemorate the event. Take photographs of all of the girls and print them out so that they can take them home. You might also offer for them to keep some of the hair supplies you purchased for the sleepover. Creating a goody bag where they could keep their stash would be the perfect way to end a fun game at a sleepover that they are sure to remember for years to come.
