Egg Hunt
The egg hunt is usually reserved for Easter. Colorful, plastic eggs filled with treats or hard-boiled eggs are hidden for the children to hunt and find. The children search for and find as many eggs as they can, filling up their Easter baskets.
Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger hunts are when people/teams are given identical lists of predetermined items and set out to find each item on the list. Scavenger hunts can be done anywhere. You can assign different point values to each item on the list to determine which person (or team) wins. If you would like to really put the pressure on, set a timer for 15 minutes to see how many items can be found by each in an allotted time.
License Plate Hunts
The car and travel game has been around for a long time. You start by looking out the window at the other vehicles on the road. Each state's license plate you see earns you one point. At the end, whoever has found the most states, wins. This game can be modified in many ways to include hunting types of cars, words or letters.
Hide &Seek
Hide and seek is another old hunting game that has been played for many years. One person counts to thirty, while the other players hide. The counter has to then search all around the area to find the children who have hidden.
I Spy
I Spy is another type of hunting game. Children can learn to play this game at a very early age and it will help them be more aware of things in their surroundings. One player thinks of something to spy. It has to be something in the immediate area that is visible to the other players. Then he says, "I spy with my little eye, something ___________;" this could be a color or a characteristic of the chosen item.
