How to Make a Lightning Pokemon Deck

Pokemon decks are used for playing the Pokemon card game, in which they contain exactly 60 cards. A deck can contain any combination of cards, though not have more than four of the same card (excluding basic energy cards). It is generally good to build a deck around one energy type, and a lightning Pokemon deck can be one the most effective.

Building a Lightning Pokemon Deck

  Using the starter and small Pokemon packs, pick out 30 energy cards. Build these 30 cards to contain 20 lightning energy cards and 10 normal energy cards.

  Look through your available Pokemon cards and find all the trainer type cards. Fill your deck with 10 of these cards. Use the cards appropriate to the Pokemon you are using. If most of your Pokemon have low hit points (under 60), build your deck with mainly super potions. However, if you prefer a more offensive type of play, build your deck with Gusts of Wind and Energy Removal.

  Use the remaining Pokemon cards you have to build up a group of 12 basic Pokemon. These cards should not be the evolved form, but also be geared towards using lightning energy cards.

  Fill the remaining eight spots in your deck with advanced and evolved Pokemon cards. If you don't have any, use your spare money to buy specialized cards at a professional dealership. Look for cards that will evolve from your basic Pokemon. Pay attention to what energy they use and pick only Pokemon that use lightning and normal energy.
