How to Set Up the Read With Me DVD

Read with me DVD is a collection of learning games that's perfect for children and families. These intuitive programs entertain your children through animations and audible games, while teaching them how to read, write and improve their vocabulary skills.
Before your can use these learning DVD's, you have to properly configure your DVD player to work with the Read With Me controller. This simple process, takes just a few minutes, and you're ready for a creative, adventurous learning process.

Things You'll Need

Read With Me SET-UP disc
DVD player
DVD player remote control
Read with me controller
Small phillips head screw driver

Instructions

Programming the Read With Me Controller

  Remove the "Try Me" tab located on the back of your Read With Me controller. Turn off your DVD player during programming.

  Press the "ON" button located on the front of your Read With Me controller, then unscrew the cover on the controller with your Phillips screw driver. Remove the cover, and put it aside.

  Place your Read With Me controller on a flat surface, then place your DVD remote control, facing it about 3 inches apart. The audio instruction will be automatically activated.

  Follow the step-by-step audio instructions from your Read Me Controller. Press each button on your DVD controller when prompted to. If you push the wrong button, place the cover back on to the Read With Me controller, then remove it to reset, and begin again.

  Screw the cover back onto the controller when you are done with the setup.
Programming Using A Manufacturer's Code

  Press the "ON" button on the controller, then remove the cover with your Phillips head screw driver. When the audio begins, press and hold the asterisk (*) button for at least 2 seconds to activate the manual programming.

  Look up your DVD player's code on your manual, and then enter it. After the LED light turns solid green, screw the cover back on the controller.

  Press the buttons on the controller to see if they light up. Some DVD players may have more than one code; therefore, you have to repeat this process, and try each code to see which one works.
Testing Your Controller

  Turn your DVD player on, then insert the Read With Me SET-UP disc.

  Select the "Test Your Controller" option from the main menu.

  Follow the instructions to make sure you controller has been properly set. If it does not work, repeat the programming steps.
How To Play Your DVD

  Insert any Read With Me DVD into your DVD player.

  Press the "ON" button on your Read With Me controller, then choose the options you want from the main menu.

  Use the buttons on your controller to play, pause, skip and return to your clips. Your setup is complete.
