How to Build a Monster Truck Game

A monster truck game involves two or more people racing their remote-controlled monster trucks over a track. Make your own monster truck game by building a track in your backyard or in an open field. But just building a track isn't the only thing that's needed to have a game. For your game, you can decide on several different racing events and total the points scored in each event to determine the winner.

Instructions

    • 1

Design the course. Draw tree symbols and other obstacles that will be in the course. It's more fun to have obstacles and multiple turns in your course so it's not just a contest of speed. Add obstacles such as hills, heavy vegetation, embankments, ruts, gravel pits and patches of sand. Add water to one of the turns, such as turn three, on the course. The finish line should be the same line as the starting line so that it is a circular course.

    • 2

Decide to have three time trials, during which each player races alone with a radio-controlled monster truck over the course you have outlined. The average of the three times could be compared with the other players' times and the shortest average scores a point. The combination of the time trial score with the points scored during races will decide the winner.

    • 3

Choose on three races with everyone controlling their monster truck over the course at the same time. The first truck over the finish line scores a point.

    • 4

Tie strings to Popsicle sticks so that the string runs along the left and right sides of the course. Add the obstacles by digging ruts, adding rocks to a pit and adding dirt to make hills and embankments. Add water to your turn three for a slippery spot.

    • 5

Have everyone get their radio-controlled monster trucks on the course and begin your game. Start with the individual time trials, then go to the three head-to-head races.

    • 6

Total up each player's points for the winning score.
