Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut five of the index cards into long triangles. These will be the cones for the game. You can make more cone shapes if you will have more than five players.
Color one side of the cones brown or yellow with the crayons or markers. You can make a crisscross pattern to depict a waffle cone.
Cut into half-circle shapes enough index cards so that there is at least one per cone made in Steps 1 and 2. This will be at least five. These will be the ice cream scoops.
Color one side of each of the ice cream scoops a different color. You can repeat colors if you like. Each color will be a different ice cream flavor. White is vanilla, brown is chocolate, pink is strawberry, green is mint, and yellow can be lemon sherbet or banana ice cream. Write the name of the ice cream flavor on the colored part of the scoop.
Cut small oval shapes about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long from the index cards. Make at least two of these shapes per cone made in steps one and two. Make sure that all of the ovals are the same shape.
On one side of each of the ovals, draw and color a picture of an ice cream topping. You could also cut out pictures from the magazines or newspapers to glue onto the ovals to show toppings. Possibilities include: cut strawberries, bananas, chocolate chips, a whipped cream dollop, cherries, candy sprinkles, chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup or any other toppings you like.
Play the game by placing all of the index cards face down on a surface. Each player draws one triangle shape, one or two half circles and two ovals.
Each player lays out their cards so that the triangle is on the bottom, slightly overlapped by the semi-circle, and then the two ovals. This will be an combination of an ice cream cone with one or two scoops of ice cream and two toppings. See tips for variations of this game.
If desired, use the real ice cream to create edible versions of the ice cream concoctions made during the game play.
