How to Create a Matching Game on the Computer

Kids love matching games. If you have ever played a matching game with a child, you were probably beaten easily. Children have fresh minds for games like this, and they tend to excel at them.
Matching games are excellent tools for encouraging memory and thought in children. Of course, you could buy one of the many different varieties of matching games available for purchase.
But did you ever realize that you could easily make a matching game especially for your child that could be created to appeal to your child's own individual interests or likes? Creating a matching game with your computer is a fast and easy project that your child will enjoy.

Instructions

  1. Create a Matching Game on the Computer

      Visit google.com. Enter an image you would like to search for and click on the "Images" tab at the top of the website.

      View the results. For example, if you entered "trucks," you would now see a wide variety of pictures of trucks.

      Choose the image you would like to use for one of your matching game pictures. Click on the image to be taken to the website.

      Right-click on the image to download it to your computer. Save it to your desktop for easy access.

      Repeat Steps 1 through 4 to find as many different images as you would like to use for your matching game.

      Open a graphics program and open the first image you downloaded.

      Resize the image to 3 inches by 3 inches.

      Save the resized image.

      Print out two copies of the image on card stock paper.

      Repeat Steps 6 through 9 for all of the images you downloaded.

      Cut out each image to finish the graphics game.
