How to Catch a Legendary Dog in Firered

Pokemon began as a simple card game and has evolved into video games, movies and a wide range of toys and action figures. The Pokemon video games are some of the most frequently played on the market, and they are as unique as the cards themselves. Pokemon Firered is a complex game in the Pokemon series, and the Legendary Dogs in the game can pose quite a challenge. Catching one can be difficult, but it is well worth the effort.

Instructions

- 1
  Get the Legendary Dog in your Pokedex. This will make catching and keeping one of them much easier. You can either wait for it to appear after one of your battles or trade with a friend until you get one.

  Align your Pokemon adventure party properly. You need to have a creature with the Shadow Tag feature that has a level lower than 50. A Wobbufet will help keep the Legendary Dog from escaping once you catch him.

  Walk your character near the Pewter City. You need an area with a lot of grass and a weak Pokemon in order to find your dog. Keep an eye on things with your Pokedex until you notice the Legendary Dog is on the same general path as you are.

  Save your game once you get to this point; if your character dies, you can start over from the same point. If you didn't save, you've just wasted a lot of game play for nothing.

  Engage the Legendary Dog when you find it. If you're using a Pokemon with the Shadow Tag feature, the dog cannot run from you. If you aren't using one of these characters, try using the Mean Look or Block move to try to stop the dog. Once the dog is trapped, you will enter into a normal legendary battle and will have the chance to capture it.

  Attack the Legendary Dog to lower its health. Use fairly weak moves, such as the False Swipe, to wear down the dog's health.

  Pelt the Legendary Dog with Ultra Balls once it has only a small amount of health left. (Buy as many Ultra Balls as you can afford before hunting for your Legendary Dog, so you have the greatest chance of capturing it.)

  Throw the Master Ball at the Legendary Dog if you want a sure-fire way to capture it. The Master Ball will work every time, and will guarantee that you successfully capture your Legendary Dog.
