How to Play Japanese Tag

Tag is a great game to play in the backyard, park, playground or even an empty city street. There is no equipment involved, and the rules are basic--the person who remains untagged at the end of the game is the winner. You can't get much easier than that. Here's a fun variation on the tag theme.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose one person to be "It."

    • 2

Have "It" count to 10 while the other players move away or hide.

    • 3

When "It" had finished counting, she chases the other players and tries to tag them.

    • 4

As a player is tagged, he must put his hand on the place on his body that was touched by "It.," and he now becomes "It." He must keep his hand on that part of his body until he tags another player, who becomes "It" and has to tag another while holding the part of his body that has been tagged.

    • 5

The game ends when only one person has remained untagged.
