How to Play Elbow Tag

Elbow Tag is a game that kids of all ages can enjoy. The game is continuous so you will have to end it on your own and there are no winners or losers. Pick a place with a lot of room to play.

Instructions

    • 1

Divide the group into pairs. Have each pair of kids link arms together at the elbows.

    • 2

Tell all the kids to stand in a circle by pairs. Leave at least 10 feet of space between each pair.

    • 3

Pick one pair of kids and make one member of the pair "it." You can decide this by randomly picking someone, or you can use "Eenie, meenie, minie, mo..." to pick someone.

    • 4

Instruct "it" to chase his partner. If he catches the person he is chasing, that person then becomes "it."

    • 5

Run toward one of the pairs of kids and link arms with one of the pair, making 3 in the link if you are the one being chased by "it." As soon as you do so, the person on the other side of the link must break free and that person then is the one being chased by "it."

    • 6

Continue on in this manner. Change who is being pursued by having the one being chased link arms with a pair of players and change who is "it" by tagging the one being pursued. If "it" catches his pursuer, he then will have to hurry and link arms with someone to remove himself from the chase.

    • 7

Play until kids are worn out or just want to switch games.
