Things You'll Need
Instructions
Spread a large white sheet or plastic shower curtain flat on the ground. The size of the sheet will determine the size of the game board so the larger the sheet, the larger your "Ultimate Twister" board will be. If you want to create an extra large board, sew together the edges of several sheets or shower curtains.
Use a paper plate as a template to draw circles on the sheet in pencil. Begin by setting the plate in one corner, about three inches from the edges of the sheet. After tracing the first circle, move the plate and trace around it again. All of the circles should be arranged in straight rows and columns with about three inches between the circles in each row and about 6 inches between the columns.
Fill in the circles with colored acrylic paint. The first row of circles should be red, the second blue, the third yellow and the fourth green. Continue to follow this pattern if your "Ultimate Twister" board ends up having more than four rows.
Allow the paint to set until it is dry to the touch. This process could take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on the thickness of the paint. If you desire, you may apply a second coat of paint after the first has dried.
Spray a coat of clear finish over each painted circle if you are using a plastic shower curtain instead of a sheet. This will help to prevent the paint from flaking and coming off as you use the mat.
Assemble a game board by painting colored circles around the edges of a square piece of cardboard. The circles should represent the colors on the "Ultimate Twister" mat and they should alternate in color, following the same pattern used on the mat.
Cut an arrow shape out of a piece of card stock and insert a round-head fastener through the end of the arrow and the center of the cardboard square. Fold down the two prongs of the round-head fastener to secure the arrow in place and twist it to carve a circular opening in the cardboard, which will allow the arrow to spin freely.
Arrange the players along the outside of the game mat. Flick the card stock arrow and call out a body part and the name of the color on which the point of the arrow lands. Players must place the named body part on a circle of the chosen color.
Continue to call out body parts and colors. As the game progresses, players will have an increasingly difficult time staying upright while putting the right body parts in contact with the right colors. Any player who loses his balance and either sits, falls or places a knee down on the mat is out. Play continues until only one player remains.
