Hunts
Hide several small dog bones all over the party area. When you say ̶0;Go,̶1; the boys must run around collecting as many bones as they can. The player who finds the most bones wins the game. Place dog stickers on two of the bones and the children who find those bones also win prizes.
Since most boys like getting dirty, hide the bones in a plastic swimming pool full of play sand or dirt. Give each boy 30 seconds to find as many bones as he can. The player who finds the most bones wins the game.
Tossing Games
Draw or print a picture of a dog and tape it to the bottom of a cardboard box. Cut the dog̵7;s mouth out and lean the box against a wall. Mark a starting line 10 feet from the box. Give each boy five real dog treats to try to toss in the dog̵7;s mouth. The boy who throws the most dog treats in the target wins the game.
Alternatively tape a green poster board to the bottom of the box. Place the box with the poster board facing up and have the boys try to toss plush dogs on the poster board. Tell the boys the poster board is the backyard and they must toss the dogs into the backyard. The boy who lands the most dogs on the box without them falling off wins the game.
Contests
Most boys enjoying being loud and silly, so create a dog-barking contest for them. Give the boys five minutes to practice their best bark. Have each boy give his best bark to the party guests. Award a prize to the boy who receives the longest and loudest applause for his dog bark. If you want to award more prizes, award prizes for the funniest, silliest, scariest and loudest dog barks.
Obstacle Courses
Create a dog obstacle course for the boys to complete. They must get on all fours and jump over boards, jump through hoops, run up and down ramps, crawl through empty boxes and run around cones. Have each boy complete the course one at a time. The player with the fastest time wins the race. If you have enough supplies to create two identical courses, allow two boys to compete at a time and award the winner with a prize.
