How to Make a Licorice Limbo Game

Combining food with games is a great way to motivate gamers at a party or other large event. Licorice and the game of limbo are a great combination, because the strands of licorice can naturally act as the bars under which players must dance. With a bit of preparation, any party can have an exciting licorice-themed limbo game.

  Determine the objective of the licorice limbo game. Classically, the objective of limbo is to dance underneath a bar by leaning backward and not touching it. Replicate this rule or create a new one. For example, the objective of your licorice game could be to bite the licorice bar from below without any other part of the player̵7;s body touching the licorice.

  Purchase enough "shoestring" licorice to accommodate the number of players in the game. Shoestring licorice comes in thin, long strands.

  Tie the strands of licorice together to create a limbo bar. Create varying widths for the licorice limbo bar depending on the type of game you devise. For example, twist two licorice ropes around each other to create a thicker, sturdier limbo bar. Braid three licorice ropes together to make an even stronger licorice rope. The stronger the licorice rope, the more resistant it will be to bumps from clumsy players.

  Determine a reward or punishment system that involves the licorice. For example, winners may be allowed to randomly draw candy from a black bag.
