How to Create Your Own NBA Fantasy Team

Fantasy basketball adds an extra incentive to watch all the NBA games in a season. The social game, usually played with two or more friends, allows people to create their own teams using all of the players in the NBA. Superstars such as Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, Lebron James and Dwayne Wade could possibly play on the same fantasy team. In order to win, a fantasy team must earn the most points based on the player's performance in real life. There are several websites that allow people to create fantasy basketball teams and leagues. Access one of these sites to create your own fantasy NBA team.

  Visit a NBA fantasy basketball website. The website will allow you to create a fantasy team and create a league with other people. Yahoo Fantasy Sports, ESPN Fantas, and NBA Fantasy Basketball are three free online services with which people can create a fantasy team.

  Select the "Create" or "Join" button located on your homepage of choice. If required, create an account on the following page by filling in the requested information. Select "Register" to register with the fantasy team service and start the league.

  Enter the name of the league you wish to join if you selected the "Join" option. Click "Enter League" or something similar next to the league to join the league. If you're creating a league, enter the name of your league, set rules and input other other required information. Select the "Invite" option to invite other people into the league.

  Follow the rules as listed on the fantasy basketball service to learn when you can draft NBA players to your fantasy team. Once it is time for the draft, select the NBA players that will play on your roster. After adding the players, set the starting lineups, the bench and reserve players that will gain points for you during the NBA season.
